Hillside Education is a 36 Place SEMH Independent School for children aged between 8 and 16. We are nestled in 2 acres of countryside in Kingston on Soar, South Nottinghamshire. It might feel like really rural location but within a 10 minute drive you can reach Clifton Nottingham City and also the counties of Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

We serve children aged 8-16, that have found mainstream school difficult. This could be a for a variety of reasons such as experiencing ACES and trauma or a diagnosis of ADHD. Our trauma informed approaches and therapeutic approaches are also tailored to those children that are at risk of criminal exploitation.

We are a relationship-based school. Put simply, we believe the quality of our lives is directly linked to the quality of the relationships we have with those around us - and that counts whether you're 14 or 40. Relationships matter to everyone, but especially to children who have experienced exclusion or struggled to feel that they belong at school.

At Hillside, success means more than qualifications, although we hold high academic and vocational expectations. It means children leaving us with the confidence, self-esteem and skills to make a meaningful contribution to society. We want our children to be able to communicate effectively, manage conflict know what it means to be part of a team. Ultimately we want them to be able to build healthy, respectful relationships with the people around them.
